Abstract | With a considerable capability to decarbonize the transportation sector, electric vehicle (EV) has successfully found its place in the field of mobilization with the inclusion of battery and an electric motor in the vicinity of the conventionally utilized fuel-derived engines. These motor and other components vary the performance of the vehicle under various working scenarios. Predicated on this concept, this paper is intended to present an overview of the various components that are used inside an EV. The paper focuses on the implementation of the most simple and low run time model of EV with both DC and Brushless DC Motor by using MATLAB Simulink software. In addition to this, a mathematical analysis of the system is included to depict the prominence of vehicle dynamics in the determination of the rating of the motor. From the simulation results, it was found that Brushless DC Motors are more efficient, easily controllable, more reliable, and consume less power than that of DC motor. |
