Abstract Objective: To study and compare the perceptions and expectations of clinical education management, on instruction, lecturers and welfare of medical students at Faculty of Medicine Vajira Hospital, Navamindradhiraj University on the basis of gender, year of study and cumulative grade point average (GPA). Methods: Participants were 150 fourth to sixth year medical students in 2017 academic year at Faculty of Medicine Vajira Hospital. They were asked to rate on clinical education management (instruction, lecturers and welfare) questionnaire. Independent sample t-test was used to compare if there was significant difference between perceptions and expectations. Results: The perceptions and expectations on clinical education management at overall were high (mean= 3.69) and highest (mean=4.5) level, respectively. The medical student expectations were higher than perceptions on instruction, lectures and welfare (p< 0.05). The medical student perceptions were not different, on the basis of gender and GPA, except the 6th year medical student perceptions were higher than 4th and 5th year students on welfare domain (p< 0.05). Conclusion: The perceptions of medical students on clinical education management were high except moderate on welfare. There were significant difference between the perceptions and expectations of medical students across three domains.
