| Abstract | The purpose of this study was to study the energy quality of Kim Sung bamboo at different age ranged from 6, 9, 12, 15, 18 and 24 months. Each part of sample was cabonized by heating at 500 ?C for 2 hours before griding into a fine powder. The physical and chemical properties, including themal analysis, iodine and methylene blue absorption capacity, ash and sulfer content and moisture content, were determined. The results showed the optimal heat capacity valued with 3,555.27 cal/g, found in 9 months age sample. The iodine and methylene blue absoption found at 2,315.025 mg/g and 98.30 % for bamboo age 6 months and 24 months, respectively. The bamboo age 15 months gave the highest ash with 10.82 % and sulfer content 0.82 %. The results showed no affect of aging to moisture content. |
