| Abstract | We have developed the method for detection of SNP rs5896 in prothrombin gene by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and high-resolution melting (HRM) analysis. The DNA samples from the Khon Kaen population with known genotypes were used for the detection by PCR amplification and HRM analysis. The result showed that SNP rs5896 could be detected and the genotypes could be assigned. The sensitivity and specificity test were 100%. Thus, PCR-HRM analysis is an alternative technique for simple and rapid detection of SNP rs5896 that associates with kidney stone disease in the Northeastern Thai population. |
