| Abstract | The surveying of natural enemies on rice insect pests was carried out in rainfed lowland rice paddy ecosystem in lower part of northeast Thailand namely Roi Et. Yasothon, Ubon Ratchathani, Amnat Charoen and Srisaket provinces. To study a diversity of natural enemies of rice insect pests by using four methods of sampling, sweep net, light trap, visual inspection and collected the egg mass of rice insect pests for rearing under laboratory condition. We found over 96 species of natural enemies composed of 71 species of insects belong to 34 families and 25 species of Araneae (spiders) from 8 families. Most of natural enemies can divide into predators 62 species and parasites 34 species. The most abundant predators were long-jawed spiders, Tetragnatha spp. (Araneae: Tetragnathidae) at Khuang Nai district, Ubon Ratchathani provicne, Micraspies discolor (Fabricius) (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae) and Paederus spp. (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae) at Phon Sqi district, Roi Et province, cyrtohinus lividipennis Reuter (Hemiptera: Miridae) were abundant at Kaset Wisai district, Roi Et province. The abundant parasites were Telenomus rowani (Gahan) (Hymenoptera: Scelionidae), Anagrus spp. (hymenoptera: Mymaridae) and Elasmus spp. (Hymenoptera: elasmidae) at Maha Chanachai district, Yasothon province, Kaset Wisai and Phon Sai districts, Roi Et province respectively. |
