| Abstract | A new entomopathogeni nematode, Steinernema thailandensis n. sp. (Rhabditida: Steinernematidae), isolted from soil samples from Kanchanaburi Province, Thailand, can be distiguished from other members of the genus by the length of infective juveniles nd shpe of spicule of first-generation mkes. The length of infective juveniles ranged from 404-406 (432) um. D% and E% of the infective juveniles ranged from 30-37 (33) and 75-91 (83) and lateral field with 6 lines. S. thailandensis n.sp. ws isolated in the tropical region and int was obvious to be heat tolerant strain from Thailand where it serves as a biological control agent for insect pest at high temperature. This is the first steinernematid recorded from Thailand. |
