| Abstract | This research aimed to evaluate the design of a Texon cutting tool which was done using the concept of integration ofquality function deployment (QFD) and value engineering (VE). QFD was used to obtain the variable attributes desired by theoperator, priority technical characteristics, and critical parts of the product while VE was used to provide an alternativeimprovement of materials used to reduce the manufacturing costs. The final stage of the design process was to increase the valueof the products for consumers and reduce the costs to be incurred by the manufacturer. To reduce the cost, the design processmodified the components by buying materials that have a lower price but have the same quality. |
