| Abstract | This study aimed to compare time period to get job and the started income of the newgraduates who attended cooperative education program and who do not, includingto study desirable characteristics of new graduates and how to developmentdesirable characteristics to meet requirement in labor market. The study employedboth quantitative and qualitative methods. For quantitative study, the researcherscollected data from 1,095 graduates of faculty that do cooperative education programand graduated in the academic year between 2554-2555, the returns was 1,061.Otherwise, qualitative study used semi-structure interview. The key informants were3 managers and representatives from organizations that attended cooperativeeducation program. The findings revealed that cooperative education programattendance affecting time period to get job and the started income of the newgraduates. For the result of a qualitative study, enterprises need new hires that areready to work and fulfill with professional knowledge, systems thinking, and highresponsibility. Moreover, the new hires should have efficient English skill, or can usethird languages, and use computer program. Moreover, enterprises suggestedteachers must train student to apply the theory by designed new classroom activities,such as simulation and project based learning. |
