| Abstract | This studyexamined thetoxicity of paraquat and glyphosate on Anabastestudineusembryos. The embryos were treated with paraquatat 0.01, 0.03 and 0.1 mg/L, and glyphosate at 0.02, 0.05 and 0.2 mg/L. The effects of these substances were examined by monitoring the threeendpoints: mortality, hatching rate and heart rate. The results showed that allconcentrations of paraquatand glyphosate affectedthefish embryos with increased mortality anddecreasedhatching rate.Ascompared to the control, there were no significant differencesin theheadandtailbudstage, somite stage,and heart rate,whereas mortality,and hatching rate showedsignificant difference(p<0.05). The results revealed that paraquatwasmore toxic than glyphosate. |
