| Abstract | This article aims to describe and discuss papers on scientific and technical translation published in Brazilian journals of translation and related areas such as linguistics, applied linguistics and literature from their creation up to 2013. Twenty-eight journals were investigated, and 34 papers were selected. In surveying the papers, the following aspects were identified as relevant to the study of scientific and technical translation: corpus compilation, terminology, science historiography, characteristics of scientific and technical texts and didactics. This literature review, which is designed for teachers, students and practitioners, provides one of the first examinations of scholarly articles on scientific and technical translation to be compiled in Brazil. It is intended to provide a benchmark for comparison with future developments in this field. |
