| Abstract | This study aimed to compare of four coagulants (alum, polyalumina chloride (PACl), ferric chloride (FeCl3), and ferric sulfate (Fe2(SO4)3)) efficiency for removing turbidity, color, and ultraviolet absorbance at 254 nm (UV254) of treated wastewater of sugar. Effect of pH (5, 6, 7, 8, and 9) was investigated under coagulants dose of 500 mg/L. The result showed that pH of 6 is appropriate for coagulation. FeCl3 was the best coagulant effectively removed turbidity, color, UV254 by 66%, 63%, and 70%, respectively (pH 6). PACl provided lowest removal and was not effective for UV254 removal. |
