| Abstract | This mixed-methods research aimed to (1) assess the effects of technology transfer on clean cassava stem- cuttings production; (2) evaluate farmers’ adoption of clean cassava stem-cuttings production technology; and (3) develop guidelines for improving the production of clean cassava stem-cuttings. The study population consisted of 60 farmers participating in the 2023 Cassava Production Efficiency Improvement Project in Suphan Buri Province. Research instruments included a structured interview, a farmer knowledge assessment, a cost–benefit record form for cassava production, a field management record form, and a focus group discussion form. The technology transfer program consisted of knowledge transfer training, knowledge exchange sessions, and the establishment of demonstration plots. The results showed that (1) farmers’ knowledge after the training was significantly higher than before the training (P<0.001). (2) In the 2023 production year, farmers reduced production costs by 612.34 baht/rai, while average yield increased by 904.63 kg/rai. Average income and net profit increased by 2,324.68 and 2,937.02 baht/rai, respectively, compared with the 2022 production year. Demonstration plots applying clean cassava stem-cuttings production technology showed disease incidence before harvest of 1.81% and 2.34%. Farmers participating in the project reported a high level of satisfaction (µ = 3.89 ± 1.04). (3) Guidelines for improving clean cassava stem-cutting production include: the use of high-quality stem-cuttings, cost reduction and appropriate pest management, the expansion of clean cassava stem-cutting production areas and farmer capacity development aim to sustainably enhance the efficiency of clean cassava stem-cutting production. |
