| Abstract | Music festivals in the Isan region have become increasingly popular as recreational activities, playing a significant role in entertainment, social interaction, and cultural identity promotion. However, organizing music festivals in this context faces challenges in various dimensions, including environmental impacts, social issues, and a lack of sustainable management. This article aims to analyze music festivals as recreational activities, examine factors contributing to their success, assess their economic, social, cultural, and environmental impacts, and propose sustainable development strategies. The findings reveal that music festivals in Isan not only provide entertainment and relaxation but also serve as platforms for cultural exchange and economic stimulation through tourism and job creation. However, challenges remain, such as environmental issues arising from waste generation and excessive resource consumption, as well as social concerns related to alcohol and substance abuse within festival settings. Recommendations for enhancing the sustainability of music festivals as recreational activities include designing festivals that cater to diverse target groups, implementing effective measures to mitigate social issues, establishing systematic environmental management strategies, promoting community engagement, and fostering collaboration among various sectors to elevate music festivals as integral components of a thriving and sustainable recreational industry. |
