| Abstract | This research article is part of the dissertation titled "Dhamma Books of Northeastern Monks: Communication of Core Teachings and Ideology Formation," which is a requirement for the Doctor of Philosophy program in Thai Language at Mahasarakham University. The objectives of this research article are as follows: 1) to analyze the value of Dhamma books in the Thai language for communication 2) to analyze the distinctive characteristics of Dhamma books in the Thai language for communication which has the scope of information on the Dhamma books of Phra Ajahn Thate Desaransi and Phra Ajahn Bua Yanasampanno The results of the study showed the value of Dhamma books in the Thai language dimension consists of 6 aspects: 1) Using single words to express teaching intent 2) Using words to express the routines of monks and words describing monks' qualifications 3) Using words to express Dhamma practice 4) Using of metaphors 5) Using of sentence 6) Using rhetorical questions Synthesizing the characteristics of Dharma books in the dimension of using Thai language for communication consists of 3 aspects: 1) Gaining knowledge about other matters indirectly 2) Teaching from practical experience 3) Focusing on following the teachings for peace of mind. |
