Abstract The purposes of this research were 1) to study the use of social control processes to build a strong community of the community. 2) To study the problems and obstacles in using the social control process to build a strong community of the community. 3) To extract lessons on good practice in using social control process to build a strong community, a case study of Bamboo Forest Village and Mae Pong Village, Doi Saket District, Chiang Mai Province This research was a qualitative research involving 13 in-depth interviews and 30 participants in the exchange of knowledge. The research tool was a semi-structured interview. Analysis is done by analyzing documents and organizing forums to exchange knowledge and analyze data by classifying and organizing the data.The results showed that 1. Social control processes were used to build strong communities of the community in many respects due to cultural beliefs. Which is a way of life in a concept based on faith and belief. The group of people in the community who have faith will be the strength of the group to participate in activities or to act according to their beliefs. 2. From the problems and obstacles, it was found that the lack of participation of people in the community in solving community problems may be due to building a strong community. That must arise from a sense of responsibility towards one's own community. Problems in the role and potential of leaders in the community may be because leaders should have leadership, awareness of drug problems, have a role in coordinating with authorities, and have awareness of drug problems. 3. The results of the lesson on good practice in the use of the social control process. It was to create a strong community that found that the strategies for building a strong community of the community of Pa Phai Village and Mae Pong Village were 5 factors: 1) community management, 2) promoting participation in community management, 3) building a learning process in community management, 4) building community management networks and, 5) protecting one's own community.
