| Abstract | This academic article has objective 1. To study Buddhist Ethics 2. To study Kutadanta Sutta 3. To analyze Buddhist Ethics that appear in the Kutadanta Sutta. This study found that the Buddhist Ethics of King Maha Wichitraj which appears in Kutadanta Sutta is to rule the people with the principle of the tenfold virtue or duty of the king and 3 principles of supremacy which is in the rule of righteousness (Dhammadhipateyya). These made him shined his goodness, was accepting and being heart center of his people. King Maha Wichitraj had a Brahmin priest as his personal advisor. He had listened to the advice of Brahmin priests for better improvement by taking advantage of the nation and people as significantly and providing assistance to all people in every caste levels ruler based on sympathy 4 such as increasing rice planting to farmers who worked hard on reasonable occasions, increase capital to merchants who were diligences on reasonable occasions and granting allowance and salaries to bureaucrats who endeavored to their work on reasonable occasions. As a result, the thief, and outlaw problems in the country were reduced and people in the society received equal benefits. Kutadanta Brahmin was a role as a ruler of Khanumat village and also a religious spiritual leader who was knowledgeable of religious ceremonies and doctrines. After listening to the Buddha's teachings until faith, Kutadanta Brahman understood the meaning of 3 things and 16 elements. Indeed, it was a sacrifice of little money, and less preparation but got a great result in the final. He had shown himself as a male devotee and attained enlightenment as a Sotapanna. |
