Abstract This research aims to study the problems of content used in teaching Chinese subject, and created teaching material for Chinese subject to suit the needs of Mathayomsuksa 4 students in Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. The data sample is collected from 6 high schools (Chomsurang Upatham School, Ayutthayanusorn School, Ayutthayawittayalai School, Uthai School, Sena “Senaprasit” School and Bang Pa-in “Rachanukroh 1” school) with 160 students. Tool used for collecting data were the questionnaire, statistics analysis are percentage statistics, averages, and standard deviations.The research results found that the sample students are using different textbooks, divided into Boya Hanyu, Kuaile Hanyu, and Hanyu Jiaocheng. Overall, the sample students had the opinion that the biggest problem in the teaching materials is that there is not enough emphasis on the four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing in the same volume. and the content lacks Chinese culture and history.
