| Abstract | During the past decades, there has been change in Thailand’s social structure in many aspects, economy, occupation, and way of life. This has consequently brought about a new type of rural people which corresponds with the world’s transformation of economic structure. Hence, people in rural areas do not live separately from a whole society. Such transformation has not only shaped a lifestyle but has also constructed identity, emotion, and desire of people in rural areas which have never been the same. People have taken part in the politics through “election” since it is a significant mechanism to direct the “public policy”. They have entered to a political sphere as politic agents enthusiastically under diverse forms of relationships in order to negotiate with state as well as new forms of capital. This paper aims to examine the politics and political mobilization of political actors which is different from the study on the politics in institutional-structural perspective. The institutional-structural perspective has overshadowed multidimensional characters of the politics and has led to a myth and a trap of the binary opposition that obstructs an understanding about the politics in a thorough way. An approach to pay attention to practice of individual in everyday life, the ways she/he defines, feels and conceive the politics, shall help us to understand power relation in other dimensions. |
