| Abstract | The objective of this qualitative research was to study the patterns of civil political power building process in the northeastern region of Thailand. The data were collected from sixty key informants or well-informed persons: leaders and people in social movement in Northeastern Thailand – Northern Isan and Southern Isan. Those key informants, qualified with (1) at least an experience of political movement participation, and (2) fervent political ideology, were selected through the purposive sampling method with the snowball technique. The results of the research were found the public sector’s ability to strengthen the patterns of civil political building process was derived from vigorous political integration, regular group management, and organizational procedures. There were several organizations participating into the process and each of them had certain strategies or goals, mutual coordination and ideology, development to mutual organizational management, strategic development to reach the goals, and action to resource mobilization for organizational management. The people were aware of their own competence, by which they could utilize to organize the group, called people organization (PO). Such an organization was targeted to strengthen the public sector. Each PO connected together to become a bigger PO under stronger relationship. As a result, much more robust patterns of civil political power building process were created there. |
