| Abstract | This research focuses on the development of the quality of life of the disabled in the social services project of the Redemptorist Foundation for People with Disabilities (Father Raymond A. Brennan). The objectives of the research are as follows: 1. To study the problems in the development of the quality of life of people with disabilities in the social services project of the Redemptorist Foundation for People with Disabilities (Father Raymond A. Brennan); 2. To study the causes of the determined issues; and 3. To provide recommendations for addressing the problems that are prevalent in the development of the quality of life of people with disabilities in the social service project of the Redemptorist Foundation for People with Disabilities (Father Raymond A. Brennan); 4. To study the factors that affect the development of the quality of life of people with disabilities in the social services project of the Redemptorist Foundation for People with Disabilities (Father Raymond A. Brennan). The results of the research found that in regards to the factor of family behavior, the family must understand the feelings of the mental state of the disabled, accept their disability conditions, and empower the disabled to see their own values, further preparing them to live on their own. Looking at the collaboration of organizations in the network, the study found that governmental support is insufficient and does not meet the needs of disabled people. Therefore, in order to better support the organizations that work with disabled persons, the government should adhere to the promotion of principles that emphasize livelihood improvement. Regarding educational management and training, the study found that the curriculum did not meet the demands of the labor market, therefore the knowledge from the classroom was not transferrable to positions available from employers. Moreover, the development of persons with disabilities into professional athletes is still lacking collateral, compensation standards, and analysts with expertise in the sports sciences. These factors should, thereby, stimulate the Thai education system to promote the development of disabled persons’ educational potential and preparedness for employment. Finally, in terms of life skills and living within society, the study found that disabled persons often feel as though they are treated unequally, particularly regarding the provision of services. Therefore, the social support that empowers disabled persons and encourages them to acknowledge their own value must first start at the community level, as the community itself is best able to promote functional and supportive coexistence. |
