Abstract The Destitute with the objectives to: 1) study vocational teaching skills of vocational trainers in Protection Home for the Destitute, 2) create a model for developing vocational teaching skills of vocational trainers in Protection Home for the Destitute, 3) try out and evaluate the model for developing vocational teaching skills of vocational trainers in Protection Home for the Destitute. The target group used in the research consisted of 2 groups: 1) the target group, totaling 36 persons, for in-depth interview using a structured interview form, and 2) the target group for the experiment in Kum Sakae Protection Home for the Destitute, Phetchaburi Province, selected by using a purposive sampling method from three vocational group with the largest number of learners, consisting of 6 trainers, 2 from each group, and 30 learners, 10 from each group. The research instruments were a structured in-depth interview form, a form for vocational trainer meeting, questions and group meeting recording form, a test paper for measurement before and after learning, and an evaluation form for assessment of learning skills. The data were analyzed by using frequency, percentage, t-test, and content analysis. The research results were as follows: 1) There was no clear and concrete operational model for vocational trainers to follow in performance, and they were not trained on teaching skills in vocational training, causing the teaching not to meet the goals. 2) The created model for vocational teaching skill development of vocational trainers in Protection Home for the Destitute, or S-P-I-E Model, consisted of Situation Analysis (S), Planning (P), Implementation of the plan (I), and Evaluation (E). 3) The experiment on implementation of the model for developing vocational teaching skills of vocational trainers in Kum Sakae Protection Home for the Destitute, Phetchaburi Province, revealed that the learning outcomes, or trainers' knowledge and skills, increased in every course with statistical significance at the .01 level, and the vocational trainers reported that the model for developing vocational teaching skills of the vocational trainers in Protection Home for the Destitute was practically implemented. The findings from the research revealed that the development of vocational teaching skills of vocational trainers in Protection Home for the Destitute needed a model for developing the teaching skills, preparation of vocational learning management plans, and teaching according to the planned steps.
