| Abstract | This research aimed to 1) study the people's participation in solid waste management of local administrative organization in Samutsakorn province, 2) study the people's participation level in solid waste management of local administrative organization in Samutsakorn province, 3) study the suggestions in developing the people's participation in solid waste management, 4) study approaching methods in developing the people's participation in solid waste management of local administrative organization in Samutsakorn province. This study used mixed method research by using quantitative and qualitative study. Samples of the quantitative research were household representatives, totally 384 samples through the data collecting by questionnaires. Informants of the qualitative research were public sector representatives in Samutsakorn province, totally 9 subjects, and natural resources and environmental protection volunteer network representatives, totally 7 subjects through the focus group discussion method. The research findings were (1) Factors affecting the people's participation level in solid waste management of local administrative organization in Samutsakorn province, in overall, was found in moderate level, which may arranged the factors as follows: Useful action needs factor, Awareness factor, Social needs factor, Mind response needs factor, Information perception factor, Common interest and concern factor, Common agreement to change the community factor, Common dissatisfaction factor, Honor and dignity needs factor. Power needs factor, important person acquaintance needs factor, and Influence needs factor. (2) The people's participation level in solid waste management of local administrative organization in Samutsakorn province, in overall, was found in high level, which may arranged the aspects as follows: Benefit received aspect, Evaluation aspect, Activity aspect, Using benefit aspect, and Planning aspect. The results of the linear multiple regression analysis between factors affecting people's participation in solid waste management of local administrative organization in Samutsakhon province and the level of people's participation in solid waste management of local administrative organization in Samutsakhon province found that the 3 factors affecting the participation with the highest level of people's participation, firstly, Information perception factor (X17 Beta = 0.32), secondly, Useful action needs factor (X8 Beta = 0.31), and thirdly, Social needs factor (X6 Beta = 0.18). The unstandardized regression equation was formed asY = 1.07 + (0.08X2) + (0.06X3) + (0.07X5) + (0.12X6) + (0.22X8) + (0.10X12) + (0.14X15) + (0.11X16) + (0.35X17) and the standardized regression equation was formed asZ = 0.14Z2 + 0.13Z3 + 0.10Z5 + 0.18Z6 + 0.31Z8 + 0.12Z12 + 0.16Z15 + 0.11Z16 + 0.32Z17 . (3) Suggestions in developing the people's participation in solid waste management of local administrative organization in Samutsakorn province with 3 highest frequency were as follows: 1) Should have more public advertisement of people's duty in solid waste management, 2) Local agencies should have activities campaign in promoting the people's solid waste management, and 3) Should provide payment for natural resources and environmental protection volunteer to motivate the people's participation. (4) Approaching methods in developing the people's participation in solid waste management of local administrative organization in Samutsakorn province were comprised with 4 activity projects; 1) Household waste management and separation project, 2) Plastic bag reduce through Line application advertisement project, 3) Environment model kids project and 4) Solid waste bank project. |
