| Abstract | The relationship between the autonomic nervous system (ANS) and thephysiological signal such as heart rate (HR) has been recognized for century. The ECGand others heart signals, therefore, have been used as indications in many clinical andphysiological study. There are many research activities resource have been established tostimulate new investigations in physiological signal study. One of the most outstandinginformation resource is "PhysioNet", which offers free access to the large collectionsof recorded physiologic signals and related open-source software via the web. (PhysioNet,a public service funded by the National Institutes of Health USA ) .Among the abundance of research physiological data, some are done forstudying of the meditation effects to Autonomic Nervous System , showed by heartactivity such as ECG and HRV data. However, most of meditation study are limitedto Chinese Chi (or Qigong) and the Kundalini Yoga meditation techniques. The objectiveof this meta-research article is to study the effect of meditation to Heart Rate Variability(HRV) by downloading data from 2 databases of PhysioNet as the pilot study for ournear future project of Thai Buddhist's Anapanasati effect on physiological signal.Theother objective is for feasibility study of Thai web-based resource, which are cooperatedby many health and educational service units, aims for physiological data supplying topublic. |
