| Abstract | The article is aimed at describing the use of Active Learning (AL) teachingtechniques for the improvement of Thai learning and the achievement of the 6 areas of learning outcomes expected of the learners when studying THA-100 course: Contemporary Thai Language and Information Literacy, School of Liberal Arts, Walailak University. The article first describes the ideas that are used to design the course, the teaching and learningprocess, the roles of the teacher, the materials used and the evaluation process focusing on authentic assessment. The second part of the paper presents the improvement of the students is learning achievements focusingon the six learning outcomes: 1) Ethics and Moral, 2) Knowledge, 3) Application of Knowledge, 4) Interpersonal Skills and Responsibility, 5) Communication, Information Literacy and Information Technology Skills, and 6) Art and Cultural Appreciation. It was found that active learning motivates student participation in class. Secondly, variety of activities enhances teacher-student interaction and thirdly, the role of the teacher as a facilitator who supports student learning leads to meaningful learning. |
