| Abstract | This article studies the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Information Literacy in the context of higher education. It examines relevant literature and classroom activities at Thaksin University, using the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) framework as the basis for analysis and learning design. The article addresses several key issues, including the transformation of learning in the AI era; the concept of AI literacy and its relationship with information literacy, ethical considerations in AI use; and the application of AI in course 0106234. In particular, it highlights a book review writing activity designed to develop students’ information literacy skills alongside their critical use of AI. The activity emphasizes information retrieval, information evaluation, prompt design, and critical thinking. Furthermore, the article analyzes the alignment between the learning activities and the six aspects of the ACRL Framework to demonstrate the potential of AI in supporting deep learning. A key strength of the article is its presentation of the concept of "AI-mediated Information Literacy," emphasizing that learners should not only use AI as a tool but also be able to control, monitor, and utilize technology ethically and responsibly. This approach provides an important foundation for developing learners and the librarian profession to thrive in a sustainable knowledge-based society in the digital age. |
