| Abstract | Purpose of the study: The objective of this research to study, search for, and analyze reading culture of Thai people.Methodology: Qualitative research methodology through the content analysis was used. Discourse analysis principle was based on Foucault's approach, Collected data was used in the form of text from documents collected 60 items were obtained including the printed materials, and internet.Main Findings: Result of this research, found that most Thai people read less in daily life and not read widely and also not seek knowledge including reading for relaxation and reading activities, that the creating discourse regrading not love reading by Thai people among some academics just for dominating, repeating the problems, and reproducing discourse is criticized extensively.Applications of this study: The individual level apply from the answers in this research to know themselves and find solutions or develop correct reading habits and culture. Moreover, having information indicating a country's reading situation is important and useful for formulating guidelines for promoting reading in a country. |
