| Abstract | This research aimed to find out possible pattern of land use change to mitigate human-elephant conflict in Kaeng Krachan National Park. The survey and questionnaire were used to collect data from 381 farmers in the problem area. The results of this study revealed that almost all farmers planted pineapples from their ancestors had been facing crop raiding by the wild elephant due to pineapples was palatable to the elephant. Moreover; farming areas were in the middle encroach the elephants' habitat and also it across elephant's natural path way to find water and food. Majority of farmers were beginning to change the pattern of agricultural land use but they faced the same farming cost problem as another group who were also willing to change. The possible land use pattern and congruent to farmers' attitude was integrated farming. The potential crop species were rubber; lime; and raising cattle. |
