| Abstract | The objectives of this study were to evaluate the learning outcome of integrated learning in five topics include 1) knowledge of hypertension and diabetes mellitus 2) Skill of blood pressure and blood sugar measurement 3) attitude in health care 4) drug related problem assessment and 5) community skill. This research was study in the project "Health promotion of geriatric patients who have chronic disease in Khruawan community. The target group of this study was 111 of 4th year pharmacy students who learned in the first semester, academic year of 2014, Mahasarakham University. Data were collected during the October-November 2014. The study tools comprised 3 components 1) test of hypertension and diabetes mellitus knowledge. 2) test of skill blood pressure and blood sugar and 3) Pre-test and post-test of student attitude to health care and drug related problem monitoring. The study result found that after project 1) student's knowledge was significantly higher than before project (19.22 ?2.79 and 20.79? 2.37 p < 0.001). 2) student's skill of blood pressure and blood sugar measurement in each item were significantly higher than before project in 15 items. 3) student's attitude was significantly higher than before project (4.45?0.43 and 4.58?0.48, p = 0.013). 4) drug related problem assessment and 5) community skill, adverse drug reactions assessment are statistically significant different at first and second times in community (p value =. 0.016) The community skills of describing the health problem and advising to prevent the problem to the patients at first and second times in community were significantly increased (p value = 0.016). This study showed that integrated learning, "Health promotion of geriatric patients who have chronic disease in community, improve student's knowledge, skill and attitude for healthcare in geriatrics with chronic disease. The findings could be used to developed the integrated teaching and learning in community. |
