Abstract Academic service to community and society project Pin Charoen 1, a village in Don Mueang district, organized a Takraw Suk Sam Wai sports competition. The concept of three generations of happiness is a concept that focuses on people in the community of all ages. In addition, Sepak Takraw is a traditional Thai sport that is played with less equipment and exercises every body part. Therefore, to organize the Sepak Takraw sports competition in a clear and effective format, the objectives of this study were (1) to investigate a model of the Takraw Suk Sam Wai sports competition in the context of academic service to the community and society in the Faculty of Education, Ramkhamhaeng University and (2) to evaluate the effectiveness of Takraw Suk Sam Wai sports competition in the context of academic service to the community and society at the Faculty of Education, Ramkhamhaeng University. The target groups for the competition management study consisted of two groups, namely (1) three members of the Takraw Suk Sam Wai Sports Competition Organizing Committee and (2) three representatives from Pin Charoen 1 village in Don Mueang district, for a total of six informants. The target groups for evaluating the effectiveness of the competition were divided into three groups: (1) 20 team representatives who participated in the competition, (2) 10 students who participated as judges, and (3) 15 people who attended the competition in Pin Charoen 1 village, for a total of 45 people. Semi-structured interviews were conducted to examine the competition model, and content analysis was used to analyze the data. A checklist was used to assess the effectiveness of competition management, and the data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including frequency and percentage. The results showed that (1) The model for organizing the Takraw Suk Sam Wai sports competition in the context of academic service to the community and society at the Faculty of Education, Ramkhamhaeng University consisted of four components: (A) planning, (B) organizing, (C) implementing, and (D) controlling. (2) The effectiveness of the Takraw Suk Sam Wai sports competition was evaluated that the target group had the highest level of knowledge and understanding (86.67%), the medium level of applied knowledge (57.77%), and the highest level of relationships among community members (88.89%).
