| Abstract | This academic article aims to 1) study the concept of pre-retirement preparation for human resources in an organization, and 2) propose guidelines on promoting pre-retirement preparation for human resources in an organization. Preparing for pre-retirement is one of the priorities of a person's quality of life planning. The author proposes that human resources in an organization should be ready before retirement in nine aspects including: 1) economy, 2) physical health, 3) mental health, 4) society, 5) occupation, 6) housing and environment, 7) free time spending, 8) technology, and 9) life. Step-by-step operational planning should be encouragedby supportingpersons inanorganizationtolearnfor self-transformation. Guidelines on promoting pre-retirement preparation for human resources in an organization are to prepare personnel starting from the first day of work to the near-retirement period. Various methods of pre-retirement preparation should be implemented such as providing consultants for personnel, offering vocational training, using technology effectively, etc. Recommendations for promoting pre-retirement preparation for human resources in an organization are as follows: 1) the organization should prepare the pre-retirement plan for personnel starting from the first day of work to the near-retirement period, 2) the organization should enhance knowledge and skills for the elderly who are ready to work after retirement, 3) the organization should provide continuous jobopportunities for theelderly whoareready to work takingintoaccount theproper work design, 4) the organization should make the pre-retirement planning for personnel and prepareapre-retirementpreparationhandbook,and5) theorganizationshouldarrangeavariety of activities to enhance pre-retirement preparation for human resources such as transmitting knowledge about retirement through various organization's media, holding workshops or training courses, organizing field trips, pursuing careers after retirement, etc.To conclude, if the organization focuses on promoting pre-retirement preparation for human resources, personnel will gain moral support, increase productivity, and make significant progress. |
