| Abstract | This article aims to study beliefs and rituals in the context of Thailand and the Lao People's Democratic Republic. which uses information published in print media (story books Story books, legend books, articles, journals) and online media (Facebook and Youtube), which is the first stage of secondary data collection. that were in the database between 2009 and 2023 and analyzed using anthropological and folklore methods from the areas of Thailand and the Lao People's Democratic Republic. Ready to present in a descriptive way. The results of the study found 3 issues as follows: 1) elves and beliefs that are consistent with traditional rituals 2) elves beliefs in the context of the northeastern region. Thailand and the Lao People's Democratic Republic 3) Than beliefs in modern society It is reflected in the way of life of people on both sides of the Mekong River, especially in the northeastern region of Thailand and the Lao People's Democratic Republic. In matters related to nature and traditions that have been passed down from generation to generation, such as the procession of rockets to worship the elves to ask for rain. The elves are believed to be agents of healing and warding off evil. Giving elves is a symbol of faith and is a supernatural thing that has been passed down from the past until the present that still remains in people's way of life. |
