| Abstract | The performance of seven oxidation treatments on stabilized landfill leachate namely; ozone, Fenton, Fenton followed by ozone, persulfate, persulfate followed by ozone, simultaneous ozone/Fenton, and simultaneous ozone/persulfate were evaluated and compared. The study aims to assess the variation between all the seven oxidation treatments with regards to COD and color removal. The analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Tukey๊s test showed that there were significant differences between the performances of the treatments. The ozone treatment removed the lowest COD and color while the simultaneous ozone/Fenton, Fenton followed by ozone, simultaneous ozone/persulfate and persulfate followed by ozone removed the highest. Hence, these treatments are recommended to remove organics from stabilized landfill leachate. |
