| Abstract | This paper aims to analyze the impacts of alcohol consumption on academic achievement of college students in Thailand. From a survey of 608 college students in a university in Bangkok, academic achievement (measured by their Grade point Average) is found to be negatively affected by their alcohol consumption's behavior. We also use instrumental variable techniques to correct for the endogeneity and simultaneous equation model. We also find that the student's personal characteristics and studying behavior have also statistically significant impact on the academic achievement. |
