| Abstract | This research aims to study the English teaching curriculum which isappropriate for learners using Coffee, Tea, Me & English curriculum as a casestudy. The Coffee, Tea, Me & English Curriculum is a short-period English coursetaught in Walailak University Freshmen Preparatory course which was heldfrom 30 June 25 July 2014. The 260 participants of the study were studentsfrom School of Informatics, School of Architecture and Design, and Schoolof Engineering and Resources (Computer Engineering only). Twenty two classfacilitators of the course are lecturers and staff both from Walailak Universityand a local high school. There were also 16 student staffs from School ofPharmacy and School of Liberal Arts. The data were document analysis, coursesatisfaction questionnaires (Likert Scale), Pre-test and Post test, and focus group.The results of the study were divided in to 4 parts: context, input, process, andproduct. In terms of concept, the result shows that activities in the course wereappropriated and in line with the course objectives. In terms of input, studentshad different level of English skills and abilities. The supporting factors such ascomputer system had some problems. In terms of process, the participantswere moderately satisfed with the curriculum and the management. However,they would like the smaller class size. In terms of product, students had betterEnglish skills development. The post test scores signifcantly were higher than the pre test |
