Abstract The objectives of this study were to improve the English reading comprehension skills of Grade 11 students and to examine their perceptions towards learning the Question-Answer Relationship (QAR) strategy in the classroom. The participants were 35 students of Grade 11 who were studying the Integrated English Language Skills course in an Arts-Language program at a secondary school in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya during the second semester of the academic year 2025. This study employed a classroom action research design with one-group pretest-posttest and the main research instruments were a reading comprehension test consisting of 30 items measuring three levels of comprehension (literal, inferential, and evaluative), four QAR-based lesson plans, and students’ perception questionnaires. The intervention was conducted over six weeks, including a pre-test, four lessons based on the QAR approach, and a post-test. The findings showed that the scores after the implementation of the QAR strategy were significantly higher than before the intervention. All three comprehension levels showed improvement. In addition, students reported positive perceptions toward learning through the QAR strategy.
