| Abstract | Earthworms (Perionyx excavates) play important roles in soil structure formation improvement and organic matter decomposition. It also can be a bio-index to measure toxic contamination in soil ecosystem. The earthworms from two sources in Thailand, Bangkok and Nakhon Pathom, were studied on genetic differences. DNA fingerprinting by amplified fragment length polymorphisms (AFLP) analysis using 15 primer sets was used to characterize genetic variation in these earthworms. The result showed significant difference between these populations with genetic distance of 0.351. |
