| Abstract | The chromosomal substitution lines (CSSL) with various regions between RM212 and RM3362 markers coming from DH212 and having the 'KDML105' rice genetic background, CSSL 10 ,11, 12, 16, 26 and 27, were selected for evaluation of photosynthesis response to high salt stress and extremely high salt stress conditions in comparison with 'Pokkali', 'IR29', and 'KDML105' rice. CSSL10, 12, 16 and 27 had increased maximum photosynthetic rate (Amax) in the high salt stress condition similar to what found in Pokkali, the standard check for salt tolerant rice. After 18 days in extremely high salt stress condition, all plant lines exhibited the reduction in Amax. These data suggested that the region between RM1003 and RM3602 may involve in the maintenance of photosynthetic system in high salt stress. |
