| Abstract | The field trial of sugarcane fertilization with three soil series were conducted at Sa Kaeo province during 1996-2000. The soil types were the Chok Chai series (clayey, kaolinitic, isohyperthermic hypic Haplustoxs), Pong Nam Ron series (fine-sity, mixed, isohyperthermic, lithic eutropepts) and Bungchanung series (fine, mixed, isohyperthermic fluvutic ustropepts.) The experimental design was a split plot in RCB with 3 replications. the treatments were composed of 4 levels of filter cake namely 0, 4, 8 and 12 ton/rai as the main plot and 3 levels of nitrogen fertilizer were 6, 12 and 18 kg N/rai as the subplot. All treatments were supplied with 6 kg P2O5/rai and 12 kg K2O/rai. The results were indicated that the filter cake had a considerably effect on the sugarcane yield. It was evidently, found that the best rate of application of filter cake was 8 ton/rai. on the Pong Nam Ron series, the yield of plant cane and the first year ratoon increased proportionately with the filter cake supply. Whereas, the effect of filter cake on the yield of the first and the second years, ratoon would be observed but not the cane in Chok Chai series. Similar results were observed in Bunchanung series. For the nitrogen fertilizer, it was clearly shown that the rate of 12 kg N/rai tended to produce the highes tyield when ggrown in these three soil series. Neither the filter cake nor the nitorgen fertilizer applications had effects on the % CCS of the first and second year ration from all three soil series. |
