| Abstract | The field trial was conducted in the Korat soil series (fine-loamy, siliceous isohyperthermic, Oxic Paleustults) during 1999-2000. The experimental design was Split plot in RCB with 3 replications. The treatments kcomprised 3 varieties of sugarcane (U-tong 3, K88-93 and K88-58) as main plot and 4 rates of chemical fertilizer (0-0-0, 12-6-12, 18-12-18 and 24-12-24 of kg N-P2O5 -K2O/rai) as subbplots.rn The results indicated that sugarcane cv. U-tone 3 produced the highest yield, whereas sugarcane cv. K88-58 gave the lowest yield. However, both U-tong 3 and K88-58 produce % CCS, BRIX and % POL higher than that of K88-93. For the chemical fertilizer rates, it was evident that the yield of the plants supplied with various rates of fertilizer was not significantly different. Also, with increasing concentrations of fertilizer a decreased in the % CCS was observed. In particaular at the level of 24-12-24 of kg N-P2O5 -K2O/rai the plants produced the lowest of CCS. |
