| Abstract | The objective of this research is to discover, capture, transfer, and apply the knowledgeof creative tourism management. The research methodology imitates the concept ofknowledge management which is divided into 4 processes: knowledge discovery,knowledge capture, knowledge transfer, and knowledge application. The researchinstruments employed are semistructured interviews, in-depth interviews, and databaseand website evaluation. The results of this research revealed that the knowledgemanagement process can be very well applied to the knowledge management ofcreative tourism in cultural tourist attractions in Phimai district, Nakhon Ratchasima.The results of the knowledge discovery indicated that the knowledge of creativetourism management can be divided into 4 aspects. The first aspect is tourist attractiondivided into 4 groups: archaeological site, antiquities, art and culture, and tradition. Thesecond one is tourism marketing such as tourists' requirement analysis, and demand oftourism product. The third one is tourist. The main groups of tourists are high schoolstudents, undergraduate students, and working people; and the main reason for thevisit is that the attractions are on the way to their main destination. The final aspect istourism business. The strengths of overall tourism business are reasonable price andgood services, but the weaknesses are that tourists did not know the accommodationbusiness in Phimai. There are 18 tourist attractions that creative tourism can beestablished. Knowledge capture can divide the knowledge into 5 main categories,17 minor categories, and 57 small groups. Each of the tourist attractions is explainedby 9 essential features. The evaluation results of these knowledge categories, thedatabase, and the developed website evaluated by the representative sample of thisresearch indicated that contents of the developed website are clear, complete andcomprehensive. This set of information can be used to support a preliminary planningfor creative tourism. |
