| Abstract | This research is a qualitative research. The objectives of this research were as follows 1) to investigate sports tourism model in Thailand 2) to examine the factors that make sports tourism in Thailand become successful and 3) to suggest sports tourism models to government organizations and agencies and private sectors in Thailand. The results revealed that sports tourism models in Thailand can be divided into five categories: first, natural sports tourism second man-made sports tourism; third natural and man-made sports tourism forth; activities-based sports tourism; and last conventional sports tourism. In addition the factors leading to the success of sports tourism in Thailand in all 5 categories tourism mainly depend on locations; type of sports and type of organization and sections. |
