Abstract The objectives of this research were 1) to study the state of knowledge management for educational quality assurance in the Princess of Narathiwat University; 2) to develop a model of knowledge management for educational quality assurance; and 3) to study the results of testing the model of knowledge management for educational quality assurance in the Princess of Narathiwat University. The research process comprised three stages. Stage 1 was a study of the state of knowledge management for educational quality management in the Princess of Narathiwat University. In this stage, the researcher conducted a survey of the state of knowledge management in the university by asking 33 personnel of the university including university executives, instructors, and concerned personnel. Stage 2 was the drafting and development of a knowledge management model for educational quality assurance. In this stage, the researcher organized a seminar involving 11 experts. Stage 3 was the testing of the developed knowledge management model by trying out with the personnel of the Faculty of Nursing of the university for one academic year, and organizing a focus group discussion involving 12 users of the mode l) Research findings were as follows: (1) Currently, there were three types of knowledge management for educational quality assurance in the Princess of Narathiwat University: (a) the participatory educational quality assurance together with knowledge management under the forefront supervisor; (b) the participatory educational quality assurance together with amalgamated knowledge management involving all work units based on the component criteria of the Commission of Higher Education Office; and (c) the participatory educational quality assurance together with knowledge management based on the institution's strategy and criteria of the Commission of Higher Education Office. 2) As a result of the expert seminar, a knowledge management model for educational quality assurance was developed which comprised two levels, namely, the university level and the faculty level. The knowledge management practices at the two levels were connected in both the components and steps of knowledge management and had effects on each other via the Deming Cyclebased process. The knowledge management components comprisedthe personnel, process, and information technology; while the knowledge management steps comprised five following steps: the creation of knowledge vision, the determination of knowledge issues, the sharing and learning of knowledge, the storage of knowledge, and the application of knowledge. 3) Regarding results of model testing, it was found that the model as a whole was appropriate and was feasible for implementation. The model was comprehensive and covered knowledge management both at the university and faculty levels, with connection and transfer of knowledge management via two-way communication between the university and the faculty in every step of educational quality assurance process. Furthermore, results of the try-out of the model in internal and external educational quality assurance of the Princess of Narathiwat University also had positive impacts on the university personnel in terms of enabling them to get the ideas and operational steps of educational quality assurance together with knowledge management, especially in the upgrading of evaluation results on the aspect of research which had been a critical aspect in the function of the Princess of Narathiwat University.
