| Abstract | A project on community biomass electricity generation plants involves settingup of electricity generation plants, of which communities participate in theoperation. Community enterprise or networks of such enterprises then serveas partners in the generation as well as distribution of electricity generatedin each plant. To obtain the basic information needed for preparation of astrategic policy involving setting up of such community plants, the ThoughtForum on Energy, The Academy of Science, The Royal Society of Thailand, incollaboration with the School of Energy, Environment and Materials, King Mongkut’sUniversity of Technology Thonburi, held a brainstorming session on thistheme. The objective of the session was to obtain viewpoints of experts fromvarious disciplines as well as to collect, analyze and make recommendationsto responsible governmental organizations. This article presents summariesof the presentations, along with policy recommendations as well as those forfurther research based on the results of the meeting. |
