| Abstract | ThisresearchpresentstheselectionofacellularlayoutforanElectronicsManufacturingService(EMS)byAnalysisHierarchyProcess(AHP).Moreover,theselectedlayoutisevaluatedbycomputersimulation. EMSistermedusedforcompaniesthatdesign,test,manufacture,distributeandprovidereturnedandrepairedservicesforelectroniccomponentsandassembliesfororiginalequipmentmanufacturers(OEMs).Ithastobeabletoadjustitselfaccordingtorapidlychangeofcustomers.Processlayoutisunsuitablebecauseitisnotflexibleinalteringprocessesfornewproducts.Therefore,cellularlayoutisconsideredforchanging.However,therearemanydesigns.Criteriaarealsocontainedbothqualitativeandquantitativeinformation. So,AHPisusedtoselectthebestlayout.Maincriteriaforevaluationarematerialhandling,layoutcharacteristics,investmentcostandflexibility.Theresultofevaluationfoundthatgrouptechnologyandcellcenteristhemostsuitablelayout.Then,computersimulationwasdoneforevaluationthe layoutdesign.Fromtheresultofsimulation,the cellularlayoutdesigncanincreasethroughputrate32%,can decreaseaveragetimeinthesystem28%and canincreaseaverageutilizationofaworkstation13%. |
