Abstract This study focuses on exploring the impact of social media addiction on social relationships, particularly from the perspective of the psychology of interpersonal relationships in society affected by continuous social media use. The research analyzes how social media influences communication between individuals, the ability to form and maintain genuine relationships, as well as its effects on the happiness and mental health of users who are addicted to social media. The findings reveal that social media addiction can lead to stress, anxiety, and feelings of isolation. Although users may appear to connect with others more through online platforms, in reality, these connections are superficial and cannot replace deep, meaningful relationships in the real world. Additionally, social media addiction may result in social comparison, leading to feelings of inadequacy and a lack of self-confidence. The study emphasizes the importance of developing skills to manage social media use in a balanced way and promoting real-life relationships to improve mental health.
