| Abstract | This article aims to study the roles and methods of the Na-Pat dance of Phra Narai in Khon performances. by studying from academic documents, interviews, observations practice from the National Artist An expert in Thai Khon Phra Thai dance.ย College of Dramatic Arts Bunditpatanasilpa Institute Ministry of Culture The results of the study showed that Vishnu appeared in the literature of Khon performances in the story of the Ramakien, the royal writings. In King Buddha Yodfa Chulalok the Great, a total of 2 episodes, namely, when inviting Phra Narai Avatar and when Vishnu subdued Nontok, in which the role of Vishnu has a dance process that is only used by Vishnu. In Naphat 3 songs, namely 1. Banthomsin Tranarai, 2. Klomnarai and 3. Tranarai. In which the person performing the role of Vishnu, in addition to having to dance correctly according to the traditional Thai dancing arts, must also study The background of the characters to accompany the performance, thus making the role of Vishnu more complete and more admirable. Since Vishnu is a god-type character, there are dances that are performed mainly using Thai dancing skills. The performers must be precise in their dance moves as well as having to study the characters well in order to access the characters. Go along with the dancing process and take on the role of Vishnu in the correct and graceful performance of Khon. |
