| Abstract | The objectives of this research article were 1) to study the process, components, and obstacles originating from the management innovation for community participation in local development, and 2) to study the management innovation for community participation in local development. This research is a qualitative research study conducted through the research methods comprising 1) documentation study, 2) interview form, and 3) small group discussion with practitioners and 4) people in the area, totaling 45 informants, via the use of participant observation. Data were analyzed through a theory-based event analysis. The results revealed that 1) the management innovation for community participation in local development met a significant social cost driving community participation. Besides, it was considered as a group, a network, and a coordination of within and outside the community to build empowerment in the community, contributing to better economy and society. And 2) In terms of the management innovation for community participation, formal and informal leaders had a vision of resolving problems in all dimensions, integration of management, leading to mutual trust by emphasizing the use of resources within the community to create innovations, resulting in collaboration and planning that took place in the community, and participatory and non-participatory public administration. The Subdistrict Administrative Organization in each area provided opportunities for people to participate in community development directly and indirectly with transparency and verifiability, leading to success and a sustainable role model. |
