| Abstract | The objectives of this research are: 1) to study the life quality development of Thai people in the 21st century, 2) to study the principles of Therav?da Buddhist Philosophy for life quality development, 3) to Integrate the life quality development of Thai people in the 21st century with Therav?da Buddhist Philosophy, and 4) to present the guidelines and knowledge on "Model of Life Quality Development of Thai People in the 21st Century Integrated with Therav?da Buddhist Philosophy". The data of this documentary qualitative research were collected from the Tipitaka, Commentaries, related documents and in-depth interviews with 17 experts. The results of the study were presented in a descriptive method.The results of research were found that: In life quality development of Thai people in the 21st century, the life of Thai people will be happy depending on supporting and developing the sustainable life quality of oneself, family and community in 4 areas; 1) Bodily, 2) Mentally and emotionally, 3) Socially and environmentally, and 4) Intellectually. The principles of Therav?da Buddhist philosophy in supporting life quality development consist of Kusalakammapatha, Bh?van? and Sangahavatthu. The 3 Kayakamma or bodily actions, 4 Vacikamma or verbal actions, K?ya-bh?van? or Physical development and Sila-bh?van? or mental development support bodily life quality development. The 3 Manokamma or mental actions and Citta-bh?van? or emotional development can support mentally and emotionally life quality development. The 4 principles of Sangahavatthu support socially and environmentally life quality development and Pa๑๑?-bh?van? or intellectual development support intellectually life quality development. The main components in life quality development according to Therav?da Buddhist philosophy are body and mind with a focus on the reality of life and self-training to achieve purity, enlightening and peacefulness. The life quality development according to Therav?da Buddhist philosophy is to achieve sustainable happiness for oneself and others. The knowledge obtained from the study can be concluded into "HMEW Model". H is for Healthiness, M for Mindfulness, E for Environment, and W for Wisdom. |
