| Abstract | Objectives: The article aims to study and analyze the relationship between mosques and Muslims’ identities in Bangkok, as language and culture.Methodology: This qualitative article adopts content analysis, interpretation, and description to analyze the empirical data.Research findings: The mosques in Bangkok relate to and reflect Muslims' identities in their cultural areas through various levels of integration. These integrations are shown in naming strategies and toponyms. From a linguistic perspective, there are inequitable layers and boundaries within the mosques’ names. Hence, it enabled us to observe the concept of mosques and Muslims within the Bangkok context.Contribution: The research contributes to a body of knowledge in Muslim studies and can be further extended to cultural studies in the related field. |
