Abstract This research aimed to: 1) study the level of needs for insured person benefits of informal labors in Nakhon Pathom Province; 2) compare needs of insured person benefits of informal labors as classified by personal factors; and 3) study opinions towards guidelines for promoting insured person registration of informal labors. The research sample was 385 informal labors derived by cluster random sampling as distributed by district, and 10 key informants derived by purposive sampling. The research instruments were a questionnaire and an interview form constructed by the researcher. Data were analysed with percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, one-way analysis of variance, and content analysis. The research results showed that: 1. The level of needs for insured person benefits of informal labors was at a high level. When considering each aspect, the needs of benefits in old age, invalidity, and sickness were at the highest level. The needs of benefits in death, maternity, child allowance were at a high level, while the need of benefits in unemployment was at a moderate level. 2. As for comparison of needs of insured person benefits as classified by personal factors, the labors with differences in gender, age, status, educational level, occupation, monthly income, information reception, and readiness for contribution payment had different level of needs with statistical significance at .05. 3. Guidelines to promote insured person registration of informal labors were promoting insured person registration to be provincial and national policy; making public relations thoroughly and continuously through variety of media; cooperating between the social security offices and local organizations; increasing amount of funeral allowance and compensation for loss of income in case of sickness; offering choices of contribution payment methods i.e. through any banks or counter services with free of charge; and acknowledging local officers, such as village health volunteers and school health volunteers, to be information presenters and agents of contribution collection.
